Lahaina Strong runs programs that address the full spectrum of recovery, from immediate community safety and mental wellness, to long-term systemic change through legislative advocacy, land restoration, and energy resilience. All of it is resident-led.

Community Education and Empowerment
At Lahaina Strong, community education is more than just sharing knowledge. It is about empowering our people to take control of their future. We host regular gatherings where residents learn their rights, access recovery resources, and find pathways to rebuild on their own terms.

From Maui County Council chambers to the Hawaii State Legislature, Lahaina Strong advocates for policies that protect residents from speculative land grabs and preserve affordable housing in the rebuild. We train and mobilize residents to testify, organize, and make their voices heard where decisions are made.

Neighborhood Watch Program
Protecting our people and our properties as Lahaina rebuilds. We equip fire-affected neighborhoods with motion detector lights, security signs, and radios, and hold regular community safety meetings so residents can look out for one another through the long recovery.
