Demonstrations for Justice and Resilience

Lahaina Strong stands on the frontlines of advocacy, using public demonstrations to demand justice, protect our people, and amplify the voices of those most impacted.

When words in a hearing room are not enough, we take it to the streets. Our demonstrations have drawn national and international attention to the housing crisis, water rights violations, and the urgent need for resident-centered recovery in Lahaina.

The Fishing for Dignified Housing occupation at Kaanapali Beach ran for 175 days, from November 2023 through May 2024. It was one of the longest sustained occupations in Hawaii's modern history, and it directly moved housing policy at the county level.

From the steps of the State Capitol to the shores of West Maui, we show up, stay visible, and refuse to let Lahaina's story be buried under developer talking points and government delays.
